Poul & Louise Lundgaard, MD & Pd.B.
Poul is a medical doctor. Previously: Head of Health in Ringkøbing County. Health manager in Aarhus Municipality. Chief Physician at the Committee for Health Education. Clinical experience in Neurology, Psychiatry & Psychotherapy (Children, Adolescents, Adults).
Louise is a social educator. Previously: Louise has many years of experience with vulnerable children & young people and families in residential institutions. Including Department Head at the Orphanage in Tasiilaq in Greenland. Family consultant for refugee families in Denmark.
Our expertise is mentalization / metacognition - the ability to think thoughts about thoughts & feelings. And Mind-Body Medicine.
We are based on The University Hospital North Norway in the Psychiatry Department (SPHR-ST).
We are happily married to each other :-)
The story behind Thoughtful
Based on 20 years of experience in health promotion and disease prevention Chief Physician Poul Lundgaard developed the first version of the program in Denmark in 2005-2015 in cooperation with international researchers under the title Robustheds-programmet (Danish) = The Resilience Program = The Thoughts in Mind Program. In Greenland the program is known as Thinkinuk (Thinking Human).
The new - expanded and more user-friendly Thoughtful version of the program has been developed by Poul and Louise Lundgaard in 2016-2020 (and ongoing). Thoughtful is introduced globally in 2021.
We have worked together with thousands of people from many nationalities and people facing many different and severe challenges in life:
War trauma, childhood trauma and abuse, children and adults with special needs & learning disabilites, people with severe stress and severe somatic and mental disorders including suicidal thoughts and attempts, substance dependency, people who live in poverty, criminal offenders - and professionals in high risk jobs and people in high-risk relations.
We have worked together with collegues, researchers, authorities and companies in Greenland, Denmark, Italy, UK, Greece, Norway and Iran.

How thoughts about Thoughtful unfold inside other people's thoughts is the whole vision behind Thoughtful.
The collaboration with Anne-Sophie is an illustration of just this. How does Thoughtful unfold when our thoughts about thoughts take a turn into other people's thoughts.
We can only say that Anne-Sophie has enriched us with a whole new visual world for Thoughtful, which not even our imagination could have predicted.
